Sorry last time i post this question I totally respect doctors and nurses well trained medical proffesionals:)

hello again everyone. I was just wondering I know that if you take your butt cheek and draw an imaginary line across it and the other way to make 4ths and a intramuscular injection should be given in the outer 4th quarter but what if it is given about in the middle of the bottom 2 quarters i feel i have sciatic nerve damage but my doctor keeps saying no i have 2 sunken in indents were my depo provera shots were given and the one looks way to low . I really feel she either hit my nerve or put the medication way to close wich has caused almost 2 years of pain all down my right butt cheek and right leg .i have an appointment with another doctor in a few days but i was wondering would I see what this doctor says or just contact a lawyer most doctors wont say there was neglagince against a nurse so what should I do i need to be able to prove that the shot damaged my nerve but i also need to find a doctor that will say yes it was from the way she gave me the shot instead of pushing it aside

i am 23 and i'm not expecting the new docror to blame the nurse i would like to know if the nurse did cause nerve damage or is it something else and if it is something else to help me with it i just feel it was from the shot being given to low i am no longer on the depo shot and only ever go the 2 in my but cheek i used to get them in my arm i just don't know what to do the only reason i waited so long is cause i was listening to my dr who never looked in what it could even be if not that i know i am really pointing at the nurse and i would like to say it isn't and if this dr says it isn't to i will listen but if i wait to much longer and it was the nurse then i just get to suffer for the rest off my life can't excersise can't sit for long can't stand for long can't sleep at night but if it was not the nurse than i hope i can eventually get rid of the pain :):):)

i know it seems like i am poining fingers at the nurse i just haven't had my oppointment with this other doctor yet and if she looks into my sciatic pain and tells me it is not the nurse and it could be something else i will totally listen i do respect doctors and nurses lots they are very well trained medical profetionals and do know what they are talking about and i really respect that but my doctor never looked into anything that it could be i would just like to know that if she did make this mistake (she might not have )an this new dr not saying she will point blame just give her medical oppinion says it was from the injection would it be best to wait to talk to this dr before even asking a lawyer or should i wait to make sure it not something else first cause my dr pushed me aside saying just wait for it to go way for so long that if it was the nurse ian i wait much longer i wont be able to do anything

I don't really want to talk to a lawyer the hassle of everything and the cost of a lawyer and everthing like that but if i was the nurse then i can't really wait much longer so if it turns out that it isn't than i hope i can just get relief but if it was the nurse and it is permanant i can't do the thing i used to without pain getting worse it is hard to deal with the pain all day every day. i can't go and do thing with my daughter like i should without pain getting worse i can't sleep at night and i could add more but i'll try not to go into too much detail. i waould need to talk to a lawyer as soon as posible wich makes me feel bad that i feel i might need to talk to a lawyer if it wasn't the nurse hopefully it can be fixed and i can feel better but if it was the nurse i don't want to talk to a lawyer but if i need too.i am no longer on the depo and havn't been since the 2 indents thank for all amswers
Answer:
The area you describe, lower on the buttocks, is not an ideal location for an injection due to the thicker layer of fat there, not nerves. An injection is intramuscular so therefore it is given in the upper outer quad into muscle, there is actually greater danger there of hitting a nerve and this is why it is usually not done on infants anymore. Sorry but you need to look somewhere else for the source of your problem. I would think the biggest issue with the location you received your injections would be that they were ineffective as a birth control since there were placed in fat and not muscle.
At least talk to a lawyer. H/She will be able to tell you what to do next and just doing so might ease your mind a bit. You need to see a neurologist in the mean time. They will be able to help you determine what is causing so much pain. Good Luck.
It is extreremly unlikely that the location of te injection is the cause of your problems. She may not have given it in the 'correct' area (The upper, outer quadrent); but all it would have meant the injection would have been given into fat, and not muscle.
If you feel the need to sue somebody, you need to talk to a lawyer who deals in such things. They are not at all hard to find. You can find them in the yellow pages, or you may see them chasing ambulances.

If they think you have a case that they can prove to a jury and make some cold, hard cash, the lawyer will not charge you but will take the case on a "contingency fee" arrangement in which they will collect a significant amount of any award you get, usually at least 33%.

If you really want to know what is wrong with your sciatic nerve you need to see a specialist that can make the diagnosis. However, don't tell them up front that you are looking for a way to sue somebody, or they will automatically distrust you until proven otherwise.

If your lawyer really takes the case, it is relatively easy for them to find a doctor who will claim that there was negligence. There are doctors who regularly do this for the cash they can earn, and will say anything for a price. The legal system refers to these doctors as "expert witnesses". I refer to them as whores.
