So if you get tested to have you hymen checked?

Like lets say the mom/dad goes with their daughter to get it checked to see if its still there can the doctor tell them? and does the doctor do the test if front of the parents? If not can the girl tell the doctor to say its still there either way?
Answer:
There is Dr/Pt confidentiality, but not when you are a minor. Why would your parents be taking you to see if your hymen is still intact? Do they believe you are screwing around? How old are you? I believe you should just be honest w/your parents and let them know what is going on in your life. If you are having sex, you should talk to your mom about it so that she can help you pick out the right type of contraceptive.
the Dr does not do the exam in front of the parents=however ,you have to be at least 18 for him to keep you health history from them =sorry and good luck
I dont know I think they cant tell because doctor patient confidentiality
yes
It doesn't matter if a hymen is present or not as this does not indicate anything. Many times a hymen is broken in sports or if you use a tampon or other things. The doc doesn't care if you have a hymen or not and he has no reason to even mention this to your parents. Your parents do not have to be in the room with you if you ask them not to be there. If your parents think they want to take you to the doc to check if you have a hymen or not I sure hope the doc has enough sense to tell them this is not necessary and that he won't do this as it is not anything anyone needs to know.
Even if your hymen was broken, that doesn't mean you had sex because it can break from other things, like horsebackriding. (Tampons do not break hymens. That's a myth.)

The test is pointless.
The doctor examines only if necessary but a female nurse by the side will be always there and tell the patient or her relatives about the result.
No, the doctor will examine you in private, and a male doctor will have a female nurse present as a witness that he didn't try anything sexually abusive.

Whether the doctor has to tell your parent(s) probably depends on your age.

In any event, the presence or absence of the hymen means nothing in terms of whether you're sexually active. Some women are born without one, and it's easy enough to break in gym class or other play and sports activities.

If you can tell the doctor what to say, the only truth is that whether or not your hymen is there doesn't mean anything.
Your parents do not have to be present when your doctor is going to do this. Just because your hymen is not there does not mean you have had sex, a doctor can not tell for sure...depending on your age, if you have had a menstraul cycle, tampons can break it, lots of activity(horseback riding, bicycling) can also do it. Yes even if you are not 18 years of age your doctor can not tell your parents anything you do not want them too. Relax you have nothing to worry about.
